Advancing Conversations on Mental Health & Wellness
Mental Health & Wellness Advocacy
Mental health has long been an area of deep commitment for Dr Jade Kua. Beyond her clinical work and coaching practice, she has been actively involved in initiatives that seek to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and create space for more open conversations about mental wellbeing in Singapore.
From 2024 to 2025, Dr Jade served as Chairperson of the Mental Health Film Festival Singapore, having previously served as a Board Member from 2021. The festival uses the power of storytelling and film to explore the complexities of mental health, bringing together clinicians, advocates, creatives, and members of the public to engage in thoughtful dialogue around wellbeing and recovery.
Through this work, Dr Jade has contributed to shaping conversations that extend beyond the clinical setting. Her perspective as both an emergency physician and a coach allows her to bridge medical understanding with a broader view of human resilience, leadership, and emotional wellbeing.
Her advocacy also extends into the public domain. Dr Jade regularly participates in discussions on mental health, including media features and podcast conversations such as Let’s Talk About Mental Health and Wellness. These platforms allow her to share practical insights on stress, burnout, and holistic wellbeing, while encouraging a more compassionate and informed approach to mental health across both personal and professional settings.
Across medicine, coaching, and community leadership, Dr Jade’s work reflects a long-standing belief that mental wellbeing is not only a clinical concern, but a shared responsibility. By supporting initiatives that encourage openness, education, and dialogue, she continues to contribute to a culture where conversations about mental health are met with understanding rather than stigma.
