Course Overview

This is a 24-hour course, including 22.5 hours of classroom facilitation and 1.5 hours of assessment. Learners are introduced to ethical, professional advanced coaching, mindset of a professional certified coach and other facets from co-creating agreements, to designing the environment and maintaining presence to optimise success for the client and organization. Both face-to-face and online classes are available. 

This module is a standalone WSQ course or can be part of our larger ICF-accredited programme, suitable for learners keen to be ACC/PCC coaches.

For this module, the instructional methods used include:

Course Objectives

  • Apply ethics and coaching standards to develop coachee’s skill development, based on the International Coaching Federation framework

  • Outline the role of a coach to help coachee identify skill requirements in their current role due to market trends or business development

  • Apply the coaching mindset model to review the needs and skills of the coachee

  • Establish a goal with coachee, based on needs analysis and clear priorities, for skills development

  • Establish a time-bound competency development plan to support coachee’s growth in the organisation

  • Identify communication techniques to cultivate trust and safety in a coaching conversation

  • Facilitate a coaching conversation to address skills needs to improve performance

  • Identify negotiation techniques to maintain presence to facilitate high performance conversations

O Level qualifications or WPLN Level 5 English as the course will be conducted in English.

Portfolio of past work may be taken into consideration.

An interview will be conducted to assess suitability.

Course Outline

Session 1: Demonstrates Ethical Practice

Analyse coaching ethics and standards of coaching, relating them to appropriate client skill development requirements, in today’s market

Session 2: Embodies Coaching Mindset

Analyse with a coaching mindset how to review the current situation, client as a whole person, and his needs

Session 3: Establishes and Maintains Agreements

Distinguish clear agreement with the client and relevant stakeholders about the goals and developmental plans

Session 4: Cultivating Trust and Safety

Relate what trust and safety looks like to the client to communicate needs, improve performance and reflect on the impact of coaching

Session 5: Maintains Presence for High Performance

Maintain presence to facilitate high performance conversations

Certificate Obtained

  • Participants who have successfully demonstrated competence in all the knowledge and skills requirements in this programme will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

  • Participants who wish to continue their professional coaching certification journey with us, may enroll in our ICF Accredited ACC/PCC courses. As such, prior class hours, coursework, and fees from this module are taken into consideration as part of our larger academic programme.

Course Overview

Our Level 1 Coaching Course is a comprehensive 60 hour program made up of 4 learning units based on the ICF core competencies. By the end of the course, graduates will be able to competently apply coaching skills that meet the standards of the ICF.

The course curriculum is based on a blended learning model, in bite-sized modules, including 30 hours of synchronous interaction that includes tech-enabled classes (with in-person classroom sessions for suitable cohorts), as well as 30 hours of asynchronous learning that includes collaborative learning and reflective journaling.

Learners will also receive 10 hours of mentoring by an MCC level coach. Upon graduation, alumni will have the opportunity to be part of a community of practice, have social and career support, continuing education and workplace learning opportunities.
